We were able to meet a well known
artist who travelled to Abu Dhabi to share his
work with us.
This was indeed a rare and great experience for
all of us to be involved with.
Taking advantage of this great opportunity was a
must, because workshops with well known artists
such as Khaldoun are hard to come by where we
live.
The work was very abstract in a way and at a
first glance it is not so easy to understand.
However once Khaldoun had personally explained
to us that his paintings reflected the area that
he lives in.
He lives in an area of the Middle East that has
a rich religious history, being the birthplace
of Islam, Christianity and Judaism. His
paintings mirror the people and the land that he
is surrounded by.
I think this artist was an influential person to
have been able to meet and work with because he
got me to think of art in a more expressive,
free way.
