Ahmad Chaker Jomaa

To be very honest, I was sceptical at first as to what I would achieve from this workshop. I was wrong! We first watched two videos made by Khaldoon during which I was puzzled over where Khaldoun’s art came into the videos, then it hit me like an unexpected sprinkler turning on: Khaldoon art was the video. The camera angels and slide transitions, the music, all of it.
After that we where taken to see the paintings Khaldoon had done in the gallery. The first was very simple. A blue face with one eye, I wasn’t too fascinated, but the next painting dazzled me. It was a painting symbolising political levels. I think it was shown beautify, with the awkward shapes and dark depressing colours. The painting workshop was fun, but to be honest I feel that everything before was hundreds of times more useful. Thank you Khaldoon for a wonderful day!
