Recently we went to see an art
exhibition called “Colour Dialogue” presented by
the Rowaq Al Balqa Gallery displayed at the
Emirates Palace Hotel. It was work from about 16
different artists from the gallery based in
Jordan.
First we looked around at the various paintings
and different media used. Then we met up with
Khaldoon, the artist, photographer, interior
designer and painter as well as the founder of
the gallery. He gave us an introduction to what
he does. Afterwards we watched a video about his
gallery.
We met the ambassador of Egypt who was also very
interested in the art from the gallery.
One of the artists, Sana, showed us her work and
answered questions on how we could improve our
art. She also explained how she can change the
mood of her painting depending on her own moods.
When we finished looking at the artwork we went
down to the beach and we got two colours of
paint for each pair, and pieces of A2 size card
to paint on. We then used our hands to make
marks on the card. We also added sand to the
paint to give a more interesting texture. We
decided to attach each of the paintings together
into one large piece of art.
When we got back to school, we used strips of
cards to attach the paintings together.
